Mr. Rajesh Kumar Pandey, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Bareilly Range, Bareilly is native of the district Prayagraj (Allahabad).
Mr. Rajesh Kumar Pandey passed the examination of M.Sc. in Botany in 1982 from Allahabad University.
In the year 1984, After Passing the examination of U.G.C NET,J.R.F.SRF worked as a Research Associate in IARI (Pusa Institute).
From U.P.P.S.C. in 1986, Mr. Pandey being elected to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police, he worked as Circle Officer in District Sonbhadra, Jaunpur, Azamgarh and Lucknow. He was also posted as SP City Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Meerut and Addl SP Barabanki.
After being inducted into the Indian Police Service (Batch of 2005 SPS), he was posted as Superintendent of Police at Raibareilly and Gonda, and SSP at Saharanpur, Lucknow, Aligarh and Meerut.
Subsequently, he was posted on the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police (Security) in Uttar Pradesh. Mr. Pandey is one of the Founder Members of U.P. S.T.F (Special Task Force) and A.T.S. (Anti Terrorism Squad ).
The surveillance system was started in Uttar Pradesh Police by him, which gave new direction to the unveiling of crimes.
During his appointment in U.P. S.T.F. and A.T.S., remarkable breakthroughs have been achieved in the efficient execution of encounters and arrests of many notorious criminals.
Shri Rajesh Kumar Pandey has received four Indian Police Medals for Gallantry by the Honorable President of India for outstanding work, one President's Meritorious Police Service medal, and the United Nations Peace Keeping Medal in Kosovo.
He has investigated major terrorist attacks in the state of U.P, including Ayodhya attack in 2005, Varanasi Dashashwamedh temple terrorist incident in 2006 and blast in district courts of Faizabad and Lucknow.
He has also attended the training programme at Royal Institute of Public Administration (RIPA), London, UK in 2010.
