Rajesh Pandey,IPS (Retd.)

Mr. Rajesh Kumar Pandey, an IPS officer serving as the Inspector General of Police of the Bareilly Range in Bareilly, hails from the Prayagraj district (formerly known as Allahabad). He completed his M.Sc. in Botany from Allahabad University in 1982. In 1984, after successfully passing the U.G.C NET examination, Mr. Rajesh Kumar Pandey served as a Research Associate at IARI (Pusa Institute).

He is recognized for dismantling numerous criminal gangs. His most notable achievement was taking down the in famous gangster Shri Prakash Shukla, responsible for numerous killings including those of Bihar minister Brij Bihari Prasad and Eastern UP mafia Virendra Kumar Shahi. Shukla even plotted to assassinate the then state chief minister, Mr. Kalyan Singh.

The Silver Commendation Disc was awarded to IPS Rajesh Pandey by the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh, in the year 2018. Awarded Golden, Silver, and Platinum Commendation Disc by DGP UP.This award was given in recognition of his exemplary service and outstanding contributions to the police force.
